About us

Two people, and no layers in between.

Stormflow Solutions is a civil engineering consultancy specialising in sustainable drainage and flood risk. We set up in 2023 because we had both seen what happens to quality and care when it has to travel through six levels of management to reach the client.

Louis spent a decade inside local authorities, the Environment Agency and some of the UK's largest consultancies.

He watched good engineering get diluted on the way to the client: decisions made by people who had never seen the site, questions answered three weeks late by someone reading a file. The work itself was rarely the problem. The distance was.

Stormflow is the deliberate opposite of that. There is no account handler, no delivery team, no handover. You brief the engineer who does the work, and you keep him for the life of the project.

Being small does not mean being limited. We work with a trusted network of subconsultants and partners (geotechnical, ecological, topographical, structural), brought in by name when a scheme needs them, and managed by us so you still only have one number to call.

Louis became fascinated with water from a young age, which led him to study his field for a combined eight years at three different universities. Alongside studying he has worked in the sector as a civil engineer for over ten years, giving him a rare combination of academic and practical experience.

His roles have included working with local authorities, the Environment Agency and some of the UK's leading consultancies before setting up Stormflow Solutions in 2023. That breadth across the industry is why he can tell you early which way a scheme will go.

Day to day, Becky keeps the business running: client correspondence, project management and accounts. If your email gets answered the same morning, that is usually her.

The Stormflow office in Lincolnshire

Where the work happens

Two desks in Lincolnshire, and schemes the length of England.

No reception, no meeting suite, no floor of people to pay for. What you are buying is engineering time, and almost all of what you pay goes into it. Site visits happen wherever the site is.

Proud of where we are from

A Lincolnshire business, first and foremost.

Drainage rules are set locally, and knowing the authority you are dealing with is half the job. Lincolnshire is home, internal drainage boards, fen-edge sites and all, and it is where we know the ground best. Most of our schemes, though, are somewhere else entirely.
