Browsing this website

We use the visitor statistics built into WordPress.com, our website host, to see how many people visit and which pages they read. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. When you open a page with a map, your browser loads map images and tools from the map providers (Esri, OpenStreetMap, Ordnance Survey and postcodes.io), which receive your IP address as part of that request.

If you order a Flood Screening Report

We collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the site name, and the boundary you draw or upload. We use these to prepare and deliver your report, contact you about your order and keep business records. Your order is emailed to us through WordPress.com. Payment is taken by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment, your name and email address, but we never see or store your card details. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.

If you use our contact form or get in touch

If you use the form on our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the site address or postcode, the stage you are at, your message and any file you attach, such as a site plan. The form is emailed to us through WordPress.com, our website host. By email or phone, we keep whatever you send us. We use these details to reply and, if you instruct us, to do the work. Where a project needs it, we share information with subconsultants, the local authority, the Environment Agency or a water company.

Marketing

We do not add you to a mailing list or pass your details to anyone for marketing.

Why we can use your information

To carry out the contract with you when you order a report or instruct us, and for our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and running our business.

How long we keep it, and your rights

Enquiries that do not become work are deleted within twelve months. Orders, project and financial records are kept for six years. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@stormflow.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
